Licensing

Q. Do you offer an OEM style license?

Yes! For inclusion of one of our products as a component in one of yours, we offer an OEM licensing scheme. For a quote, please fill in this form and email it back to us, or alternatively you can download the PDF version of the form here to print and fax back.

Q. Can you change some of the terms in your license?

Regrettably this is not possible. A common request is to change the jurisdiction of the license from England and Wales to elsewhere, but as we have customers from many different countries it is simply impractical for us to research civil law from around the world.

Purchasing

Q. What options have we got for purchasing?

The preferred payment method is Wire Transfer. Simply send your purchase order or your requirements by Fax: +44-20-76813452 or email: sales@bfo.co.uk. In return, an invoice will be sent to you by fax or email. A 30-day temporary license key is available on request whilst payment is being processed.

For credit card payment, select your requirements from the purchase page. To proceed with the purchase, click Buy Now. This will transfer your requirements to our merchant provider, Atlantic Coast (SWREG) who will process the order securely. You will be able to select online processing or by phone or fax.

We also accept checks mailed to the KSM address. Checks issued outside of the UK may take up to 6 weeks to clear.

For direct non-USD payments, we use the rate on the day of transfer from our merchant provider, Atlantic Coast PLC.

Q. What terms are available for purchases?

Due to the difficulty in chasing international orders, we require payment in advance. If purchasing online, a keycode is sent automatically when the payment has cleared (within minutes for credit card payments).

If purchasing directly from us, please fax a copy of your bank transfer request to +44-20-76813452 to confirm the transfer, and we will release the unlock codes. Please note any transfer in our favour must be made out to "Kensington Software Management Ltd." - The Big Faceless Organization is a trading name.

Q. When does my purchase arrive?

All our delivery is electronic - when you purchase a product, you receive an unlock code via email along with instructions on how to use it to activate the product. The trial versions which are available for download from the website are fully functional except for the demo stamp/expiry date, which this unlock code removes.

Q. Can you supply a pro-forma invoice/a formal quote/a W9?

If you're purchasing online you can request a pro-forma invoice at the time. If you're purchasing direct, just let us know when you're purchasing, and we can email or fax one through. We're not a US corporation, so it will be a W8 rather than a W9.

There is no return policy as users can test demo versions for as long as they wish prior to making a purchase commitment.

Q. Who are you and why should we buy from you?

BFO formed in 1998. The goal is to establish the company as the global provider of choice for business to business java software solutions.

Both the PDF and Graph Libraries were launched in June 2001, followed by the Report Generator in October, and the Extended Editions of both in early December 2001. Clients to date include the US Department of Energy, Boeing, KPMG, Siemens and a number of first line investment banks, as well as many smaller companies from around the world.

Our aim with all our products is fast turnaround - both for support questions, which are usually answered within hours, and releases, which are very frequent (sometimes more than one a week). If a problem is discovered it's fixed and a new version released immediately - check this Change log to see what we mean. Due to the international nature of our business support is email only, but despite this most customers are pleasantly surprised at the speedy response to their questions.

Finally, the company name. Back when BFO were purely a consulting company, the approach was very much to work with our clients in as "hands on" a role as possible. We operated as a seamless part of the clients team. As some of this work was done off-site, the "Big Faceless Organization" seemed an appropriate title and it's stuck to this day - even though we are now in the business of product development.
